A brief guide on how to check if the FNMS installation is working

Synopsis

After the installation of FNMS, Inventory Manager (IM) and (at least) one Beacon, you need to know if the installation is working correctly.

Discussion

The typical 'smoke test' after completing the installation of FNMS, IM and at least one Beacon would be:

1. Deploy the Flexera agent on a managed device or run NDTRACK from a command line using the correct command line parameters for uploading the NDI file to the Beacon.
2. Check that the agent uploads the NDI file correctly and that the Beacon uploads it to the IM (IInventory Manager) Server.
3. Run a ComplianceImport on the FNMS server and make sure that the Inventory is visible. Also check the "Tasks" reports page in FNMS for any error messages.

Additional Information

Unfortunately there is no script to test the success of the installation.
