Deployment Tab - Config Manager and SCCM 2012

Our SCCM team is moving configuration manager to new infrastructure and due to the number of clients they want to move them in batches.  We had a call last year with Flexera consultants and were told we could run parallel, just move the current configuration manager entries to the SCCM 2012 tab, and place the new configuration manager in the Config Manager tab.

This morning I tried to configure the 2012 tab and received the following error:

"The Central Site Server specified is not valid for SCCM 2012 server."

I move the configuration back to the configuration manager tab and it works.  Is there code in the SCCM 2012 setting that look for a specific version?

Never trust a test button 😀 It is normal for the test button to return this error when attempting to connect to Config Mgr/MECM under the SCCM 2012 tab. there is a version check taking place, and the version does not match SCCM 2012. The deployment settings will work, regardless.
