AdminStudio Blog — SSahu_E (Flexera Software)
We’re excited to share the latest enhancements in AdminStudio 2026 R2, designed to simplify application packaging, deployment, security, and lifecycle management across modern enterprise environments.
Support for PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit (PSADT) 4.1.8
AdminStudio now supports PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit (PSADT) version 4.1.8, enabling you to create, edit, and deploy PowerShell‑wrapped packages using updated templates. This includes improved logging, enhanced script functions, and alignment with modern deployment practices. You can wrap MSI, EXE, and MSIX packages, import and modify existing PSADT packages using the latest 4.1 functionality, convert them to MSI, MSIX, or App‑V formats, and deploy the packages to endpoint systems.
Migration of PSADT v3.x Packages to the Latest Version
AdminStudio now supports migrating application packages built on PSADT v3.x to the latest PSADT version. A new “Migrate to Latest PSADT” option is available in the package context menu, allowing you to upgrade existing PSADT packages through a guided workflow without requiring manual script or configuration changes.
To migrate, simply right-click the PSADT-based package and select this option.
Support for Publishing and deployment of Mac Packages (PKG and DMG) to Microsoft Intune
AdminStudio now supports publishing and deployment of macOS packages (PKG and DMG) to Microsoft Intune. You can configure and publish Intune app metadata—such as App Information, Requirements, Detection Rules, and Scope Tags—using the existing Intune publishing workflow. This enhancement streamlines the publishing process, extends platform support, and enables better management of macOS application deployment through Intune.
Quick Repackaging Using Local Sandbox for MSI/EXE Conversion
We have introduced Quick Repackaging using a local sandbox, enabling the conversion of MSI and EXE packages into modern formats such as MSI, MSIX, and App‑V5.
With this capability, you can efficiently convert applications without manually rebuilding installers, helping standardize deployment across enterprise environments. The local sandbox-based approach makes the repackaging process significantly faster compared to traditional VM-based repackaging, while also being more cost-efficient.
To use this feature, right-click on the MSI or EXE package and select Quick Repackage from the context menu.
Intune Deployment Data Enhancements
The Intune Deployment Data tab now includes new Dependency and Supersedence subtabs. These enhancements allow you to define prerequisite applications for installation and configure upgrades or replacements of existing applications. This helps ensure proper installation sequencing, simplifies lifecycle management, and improves deployment reliability in Intune.
AI-Powered Community Buzz in App Insights
A new Community Buzz section has been added to the App Insights tab. This feature provides AI-generated, community-driven insights on application packaging, deployment, and policy management. It surfaces relevant articles, best practices, and real-world guidance from trusted sources, along with links to full content for deeper exploration.
Digital Signature Visibility Enhancements
Enhancements have been made to improve the visibility of digital signing status:
PowerShell Cmdlets and REST APIs Enhancements
New PowerShell cmdlets and REST APIs are now available to support Intune Supersedence, Dependencies, and the migration of PSADT 3.x packages to the latest version, enabling better automation and integration with deployment workflows.

Hi All.. Wonder if I am I missing something obvious.
I've setup a new Flexnet License Server on an existing workstation, installed it as a service and enabled Windows Firewall to allow inbound connection on Port 27000-27010.
I've activated my concurrent AdminStudio 2026 licenses and are able to launch a local copy of AdminStudio and activate a license on the same box as the license server.
However unable to connect to the license server from a remote device?
Thanks.

Ping is OK.. I have got it working now.. Not sure which of the various Firewall tweaks was the one.
I am now able to launch AdminStudio and obtain a concurrent license from the server.
Problem resolved.

If I use Visual Studio 2019, it works just fine. I have tried running as Administrator, uninstall VS, uninstall AdminStudio, re-install Visual Studio 2022, re-install AdminStudio 2025 R2, but continue to get the same error. I have had a security admin turn off Antivirus software to verify that wasnt causing issues too. It seems like InstallShield 2025 does not work with Visual Studio 2022 as defined.

Hi, I'm trying to create new pacage 7.5.0 for Windows Server.
But I can't find; scan-SIJSLauncher.ps1 and scan-SIOMSLauncher.ps1.
It was on version 7.2.0. Are there any workaround for this one?
Any help is appreciated

Hi Ivar,
In Sept 2025 there as a change to how the SIJS, SIOMS and SIOHWS scans are triggered.
These ps1 scripts are no longer required when using a 7.5.0 agent.
There are release notes here Snow Inventory Oracle Middleware Scanner 3 | Snow product documentation
Regards
Tom

Just don't forget to add
<SnowInventoryJavaScanner enabled="true"/>
<SnowInventoryOracleMiddlewareScanner enabled="true"/>
<SnowInventoryOracleHardwareScanner enabled="true"/>
at the end of your snowagent.config file, otherwise these scans might not run.
Long term, someone from Flexera would need to create an utility to merge all sijs/sios/snowmiddlewarescanner config files from previous versions into snowagent.config...

We are planning to purchase Admin Studio Enterprise license for our environment. Whether "Installshiled" will be included with the "Admin Studio" Enterprise Edition.
Also, we want to know list of products install with Admin studio.
Hello! It's great to see you in our Community ahead of your purchase.
While we wait for a member of our team to weigh in with specifics, this comparison guide might be useful for identifying key differences between the versions: AdminStudio Editions Comparison: Professional vs. Enterprise | Flexera

Hello,
I am new to AdminStudio and I am trying to run OS compatibility tests for an MSI using Application Manager.
For the Windows Server test, the summary indicates that 1 error was found, but when I open the test details, the same page shows “No issues
Hello Team
Could you please help us to understand the use of ISWiAutomation30.dll COM object in PowerShell to perform the below operations,
• OpenProject
• CreateTransform
• AddFile
• SaveTransform
• CloseProject
DLL location: "C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallShield\2024\System\ISWiAutomation30.dll"
If this COM object is not useful kindly suggest us the other PowerShell method to achieve mentioned operations.
I would like to collate app stats for compatibility between win 10 and win 11. This is to provide understanding of migration capability for apps from win 10 to 11
We are using admin studio 2025, enterprise license and have roughly 500 apps to test and confirm.
Asaumptions being, that if there are "x" errors with compatibility with win10, and the same "x" errors with compatibility with win11, that their should be no compatibility with the apps, if they work with windows 10.
Further to this route, we would also like to process the apps, via vm testing, without repackaging. However there only seems to be "repackage" options for Virtual Machine testing?
