Can you please share the result of the support case ? We too have observed a similar issue in our instance as well, where we can see the app installed on the device and this particular app also linked to a license, however, the device is not linked to any license.

Right, my one-to-many / many-to-many concerns still apply...
Do you have a naming standard for licenses created based on the purchases (SKUs)?
If you do, it may be easier for you to take the outset in doing this per license instead of per SKU, e.g. the Purchases tab in the License view allows for many more attributes that you could then include:

@aishwarya_t The I BM Db2 for z/OS Data Gate 1.1.0.0 in the License Information Document and Announcement letter (links below) show this is not licensed on MSU / VUE but instead licensed on Virtual Processor Cores (as defined in the LID).

Hi @pdhage
Can you please expand on your request? is there a specific edition / type of WAS product you are interested in e.g. Liberty or Developer etc?
"ILAN offerings are no-cost, non-supported, and non-warranted versions of the product."
https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSEQTP_liberty/com.ibm.websphere.wlp.doc/ae/cwlp_ins_offerings.html
If your request relates to WAS Liberty (ILAN) then there are applications in the FNMS ARL specifically for this - classified in ARL as Freeware.
Not all programs available as ILAN are marked/noted specifically as ILAN in the FNMS ARL e.g. Websphere Application Server for Developers is available as a priced product and also a no-charge ILAN. Websphere Application Server for Developers as applications are in the ARL but no distinction is provided regarding ILAN No-charge offering.

I've checked both applications in the All Applications view and each relies solely on installer evidence which means it would use a RPM entry on Linux for example.
This means that if it was installed via a script that copies the files into a directory instead of using native installer technology then it wouldn't have any installer evidence on the OS.
I would check if that is how it was installed as if so, we would need to identify file evidence. I can see on some versions there are .swidtag files that are available, so a ndi which contains the swidtags would allow a content request to be created.
If these are not available, we'd need to find some unique file evidence for that version that we know exists in all installations.

Hi Craig,
The Resolved Issues guide contains the major bug fixes from 2019 R2 and a quick scan for "IBM" or "PVU" shows there are several fixes included.
In addition, on Features by Release - 2019 R2 page under the "Changes from Previous Release" we have added 2 new features related to IBM:
Targeted IBM PVU Virtualization Scanning
PVU peaks identified by end dates
IBM PVU Consumption report enhanced .

Based on your screen shot, either you (or someone else) has manually entered a value into the "Overridden Consumption" field for these VMs, and this matches the final consumption calculated by FNMS.
Change the Consumption Override for these allocated VMs to a value of 0 and then perform another Reconciliation and FNMS should re-calculate consumption based on the PVU table.

Hi Erick Further to your post I believe my colleague Alessandra may have been/is continuing to work directly with you on this – VPC is a new IBM core based entitlement metric – details can be found in the IBM License Information document (LID) DB2 Standard Edition 11.5 - https://www-03.ibm.com/software/sla/sladb.nsf/lilookup/971B0C903A89B59385258426004E9D2C?OpenDocument I have to admit I haven’t yet been specifically involved in a PVU to VPC conversion – but on the basis you have 880 PVU’s you would need to check/ensure your VPC post renewal quantity provides sufficient cores for your existing requirements/licensed devices. e.g. if IBM are applying a 120 PVU to 1 Core VPC basis you may receive 8 (7.3 rounded up) VPC’s but if you currently have your PVU software deployed on 70 or 100 PVU per core rated processor devices then your 880 PVU’s could be covering additional cores, potentially leaving you short for your new VPC requirements. If your renewal quantity is 13 (12.57 rounded up) VPC’s it’d suggest a 70 PVU per core rating has been applied as a ratio to convert. In your FNMS PVU reports / Consumption tab of the license you should be able to easily identify the number of cores of the devices contributing to your current/peak license consumption. In regards to IBM providing no explanation – I would suggest (especially if you haven’t already signed the renewal) going back to IBM to confirm the conversion ratio applied and any clarity (if required further to the license terms) needed regarding how the new metric should be calculated/managed and your downgrade rights / migration requirements etc. An updated Flexera IBM Practice Guide (available in the Flexera Learning Center) will soon be being released which in addition to including FNMS 2019 IBM management updates will contain information on VPC management in FNMS. Thanks Toby

Hi Shelby
I’m glad it is working as expected now
If devices are not assigned to locations / associated to an IBM region then these devices with primary application installations will consume the license but the consumption for these will be represented in the compliance tab of the license under ‘Devices not assigned to any region’. In the PVU Consumption report these will show under the Region Name of ‘Unknown Region’.
When you later assign those devices to an IBM Region, following the next full reconciliation/import (likely nightly) FNMS will recalculate the peak consumption acknowledging this device as having resided in the confirmed Region and represent the devices consumption against that Region.
Thanks
Toby

Hi @shelby_day !
I marked the solution because:
1) It related directly to your question by referring to the location for the material you were seeking, and
2) It called out that the related required changes to the Practice Guide aren't done yet but are in progress - so of course it won't be possible for you to review them yet. 🙂
If things prove to be completely off base, it's definitely feasible to un-mark this solution.
Best,
Natalie

Hi, From the screenshots it looks like an import could currently be running. I could imagine that you observed a state where consumption was reset, in order to be recalculated during compliance import/license reconcile. Best regards, Markward
