Item Description Support for Linux on IBM zSystems and LinuxONE Flexera One now provides discovery, visibility and licensing on Linux on IBM zSystems and LinuxONE. Merged Devices Issues Analysis Report The new Merged Devices Issues Analysis report provides details on the inventory devices imported from same or multiple sources. New Columns Added to the IBM License Compliance Reports Five new columns have been added to the IBM compliance reports. These new columns provide additional information to represent the zSystems hierarchy structure in IT Asset Management. Trend Data for the SAM Optimization Hub With this update, the SAM Optimization Hub now renders historical trend data in the form of two line charts. Estimated Savings vs. Classical Approach (Trend) Save By Taking Action (Top 5 Trends) FlexNet Inventory Agent Change Log List of updates to the FlexNet inventory agent. Flexera One IT Asset Management January 2023 update includes the following new features and updates. Item Description New allocation reason field added to the consumption tab A new Allocation Reason text field has been added to the consumption tab on license properties, allowing you to document the reason why a user or device was allocated to a license. New Columns in the VMs Inventory Gaps From vCenters Report Three new columns have been added to the Virtual Machine group in the VMs Inventory Gaps From vCenters report. Device name: The system name of the virtual machine. Last known state: The status of the virtual machine most recently reported by your cloud service provider. VM type: The type of virtual machine. Ability to Recognize IBM Red Hat JBoss and Middleare Installations Previously, there was no visibility on JBoss usage. @AjaykumarPatil - the short answer is that details of delete records are not stored in a meaningfully accessible way. The slightly longer answer is that if you are working with FlexNet Manager Suite (on-premises) they you may find some artefacts related to deleted records in the ComplianceHistory view in the compliance database, and if inventory devices have consumed IBM PVU licenses then you will also find some records are retained with an "archived" status.

Thanks for confirmation Aamer, we are really looking forward for that functionality in 2023R1 OnPrem! currently, using Agent 19 for z/os on FNMW 2022R2 (onPrem) the ndi files will be produced just fine and find their way into FNMSInventory. In FNMSCompliance though they are not visable most of the time, even each having unique AgentID. I expect that this functionality (3 Layers, Guest, LPAR, Mainframe) will be solved/created in the next on Prem release like already stated. Looks like in the current release the different guests will be merged (overwritten) and sometimes even enter as "VM Host"...so still some open topics to be resoved until next release... I fully understand that this functionality is not offically supported right now (enven though Flexera provided tha Agent Install Source!) Thanks and greetings Steffen

The Powered by Technopedia panel is displayed as part of the beta (program) integration of IT Asset Management inventory devices with Technopedia. We are deprecating this beta integration of IT Asset Management inventory devices with Technopedia by January 16, 2023. An example of a display panel Powered by Technopedia on inventory device properties. This means the Powered by Technopedia panel to display additional model details would not be available on inventory device properties from January 16, 2023. Note: Flexera One IT Visibility customers will keep on getting comprehensive normalized hardware details powered by Technopedia through Flexera One IT Visibility. Applies to Flexera One ITAM

Summary I am delighted to announce we have extended the Flexera Windows & Linux inventory agent to discover Red Hat Middleware products to provide visibility and licensing of these Red Hat Middleware products. This will be available in Flexera One ITAM as part of the next Flexera One ITAM update and to Flexera ITAM/FNMS On-Prem customers as part of the 2022 R2 release. Flexera IT Visibility will also by providing visibility into the discovered Red Hat Middleware products. Supported Red Hat Middleware products The following Red Hat Middleware products will be discovered and identified by the Flexera content libraries JBoss Enterprise Application Platform JBoss Web Server Fuse Decision Manager What do I need to do To discover Red Hat Middleware products, Flexera One customers are required to upgrade the Flexera inventory agent to version 19.1.0 (going to be available as part of the January 2023 Flexera One ITAM update) or later. @WStephans - while I don't really have my head around the data or scenario you're working with here, I can't think of any obvious direct use for the "Forced Consumption" value from the Microsoft Windows Server Optimization Flat View report in a business adapter.

@mmccormick - As defined at the end of the article, this feature is planned to be available in FNMS On-Premises 2022 R2. Keep in mind that IBM has verified and accepted Flexera One ITAM as a replacement for ILMT, and you do not need to get the approval of your IBM Account Team and sign an addendum to your existing Passport Advantage agreement. For FNMS On-Premises, if you wish to replace ILMT, you must get approval from your IBM Account Team and sign an addendum to your Passport Advantage agreement.

Following are the features/improvements included in the September update Oracle Java is included in Oracle GLAS evidence (Flexera is a verified vendor for Oracle Java in addition to Oracle Database, Database Options, and Oracle Fusion Middleware) Adobe Acrobat Edition Detection (The Flexera inventory collection capabilities have been extended to detect different editions of Adobe Acrobat DC (Professional, Standard, and Reader) on desktop machines. We are aiming to improve OSX bundle packages if they are not installed at the standard locations in 2023 Q1/Q2. for the 2nd question flat package evidence through pkgutil does not provide enough evidence to recognize the installed application/s accurately, no product name/ App name and publisher, and a version with some metadata that is not good enough for recognition. For the Flexera inventory agent, we will be extending inventory collection to identify the Flexera inventory agent part of the Q1/2 2023 bundle package inventory improvement. It provides the full details on the user (full name, email address, entity information) and consumption (installed, used applications consuming the licenses) and computes recommendations on subscriptions downgrades) Application transparency report (Application transparency report is updated to exclude inactive devices to provide the relevant data) Oracle Fusion Middleware (Oracle Fusion Middleware data collection has been improved to collect only relevant data for identification and audit) SQL server reporting services (FlexNet inventory agent extended to collect standalone Microsoft SQL Server component installation inventory) ITAM Restful API to read saved report data using the saved Report ID (Flexera One ITAM provides a generic Restful API to read saved report data by passing the report ID.
