The "Lease End Date" column is still available for use in grids & reports in current releases of FlexNet Manager Suite so people can see data that was potentially added in this field in earlier releases. However this field is not available for editing or viewing in the asset properties when viewing an individual asset record. So based on the screenshot I'm thinking that you are indeed using a built-in column (no custom property involved). There is a background process which runs to pre-calculate and cache some data that is shown in the UI. If you are not seeing data in the UI that reflects current values you see in the database, it's possible that process has got itself in a knot. Restarting the "FlexNet Manager Batch Process Scheduler" and "FlexNet Manager Batch Processor" Windows services on your batch server is likely to reset this process if that is what has happened.

@RobertH I tried to test your use case based on the full license SKU's you shared, but I cannot reproduce what you're seeing. I.e. in my tests both licenses are consumed by both the suite as well as standalone server licenses, and the Standard editions do get covered by Datacenter editions as per below screen shots: I don't know if my test examples above provides any hints (but I doubt it) and therefore I guess it's something in your environment that causes your findings. @RobertH - if by "clean these up", you mean "deleted": there is no built-in process which would delete the type of records discussed in this article. A ComplianceComputer record with a status of "4" does get deleted when a user deletes the associated asset record, but otherwise such records should not be deleted as the side effects and implications could be unpredictable.

Is there an update to this article that applies to FNMS 2020 R2. I am unable to locate the Inventory Adapter Studio installer. Looks like Inventory Adapter Studio is installed as part of the FlexNet Manager Suite installation as well as the Beacon installation.

Like some ComplianceComputers imported from readers are related to ImportedComputer (via ComplianceComputerConnection), so are some ComplianceUsers related to their source (ImportedUser via ComplianceUserConnection). This relation (and I believe, a specific column), enables FNMS to remove these elements (computers, users, ...) when they were removed from the orginal source. This only applies to objects brought in via a reader (e.g. ManageSoft aka FlexNet Manager Suite). Objects that were originally created by a business import, are not automatically removed. There are exemptions, business import can remove allocations and stuff. To have a business import properly remove objects (users, computers), I usually implement my own SQL as a custom query. Of course, this only works on-prem, as FNMS Cloud/Flexera One does not allow you to mess with the database 🙂

@RobertH - Those messages indicate that your current FlexNet Manager License does not include the Oracle Product Use Rights library. Assuming that your logon account is an Administrator role within FlexNet Manager, you can access the Admin drop down menu in the extreme upper-right of FlexNet Manager. This will appear to the right of your name, and will be 2 small gears. Click on this icon and from the drop-down list, select "FlexNet Manager Suite License". This will indicate which publisher product use right libraries you are currently licensed for.

Hi, I can understand that managing complex licenses and their applications can be cumbersome, specifically in large organisations and when multiple people need to work to gether. I sometimes wish there was a comment field for such relations to document when and why applications have been linked (and who did it). If you're running FNMS on prem, you could automate this process, at least in parts. The table SoftwareTitleProduct has basically what you need. A Business Import could run daily and update licenses as new apps appear in the ARL. Best regards, Markward

Viewing the list of All Assets will have to be the work around but an advanced filter has to bed used to show assets whose Assigned User or Calculated User the the person in question.

Right. My environment is using FlexNet Manager 2018 R1 with inventory primarily fed from SMS and a small number of machines have FNMS Agent installed to capture SQL Server edition information. So, it looks like I need to collect the last login information in a custom property somehow so asset management personnel can identify candidate hardware assets for reclamation and reassignment.

Hi @RobertH No consumption does not just happen because the application is on the device. Your Visual Studio with MSDN license on FNMS should be a Named user license. For this license to consume the user must be allocated. For the applications on the estate to show as consumed against the license: it requires the user to be named and allocated on FNMS; there after, all applications configured for this license will consume against the user allocated for any devices found where this user is the assigned user or calculated user.
