Mike O'Connor's answers: The warning message indicates that they don’t have the Windows 10 SDK installed, which is used for some UWP/AppX and signing of some virtual application formats. As it doesn’t prevent them from repackaging applications using the AAC, it can safely be ignored. As for what ports for AdminStudio to interface with VMware ESXi/vSphere, I would consult the port requirements page for the vSphere Client here: https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/6.0/com.vmware.vsphere.upgrade.doc/GUID-5071C86E-FF1E-4E54-A424-A20917401160.html AdminStudio AAC also communicates directly with the Guest Agent that’s installed on the running VM used for repackaging. It will need the SMB ports open for communication; the preparation package included with AdminStudio should disable the firewall on the Guest VM. Hi, my prospect asked the following questions while going through the AdminStudio & Package Feed Module evaluation. Can you tell me what this error is referring to, what functionality is lost? Warning -9556 virtualizing package: Unable to locate the Windows 10 SDK. Some functionality may be unavailable. Can you point me to documentation on what firewall rules and permissions need to be created/enforced to allow communications from the AdminStudio and the VMWare server/VMs to successfully repackage with both Repackager and AAC.

Hi, My customer is wondering the following around how AdminStudio can help with MSIX. They have applications that need to allow their end users to apply application updates when updates come out. Currently, they have to give the users admin rights to do the updates. If they package those applications into the MSIX format, would the applications be able to update the MSIX install without the end user being an admin? Can the appropriate team member help me answer this question? Thanks, Sonny

Hi, Can someone help me answer the question below from my customer? Question when trying to identify Java requirements for applications, I ran the reporting tool and received that one application has a Java requirement. Hi, Can someone help me answer the following question from my prospect? Looking at our current inventory of software, there are one or two items that come to mind as being somewhat un-typical. One of those is the suite of AutoDesk products, like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Map 3D, and a number of others. These are typically configured using a network-build utility provided by AutoDesk. Essentially, this “bundles” all the prerequisites, main install, patches, updates, etc., into a folder structure. I’m wondering if this can somehow be imported into the AdminStudio Catalogue given that it’s not just a single MSI, Exe, etc. (the last two folders in the screenshot below do have single files, the rest have similar complicated folder structures to Civil 3D) Have other customers been able to add AutoCad products to their Catalogues? Hi Kiran, This is what my prospect said: The guide is referencing version 10. The version they offer for Project Lead The Way, which is the version we need to use, is version 7 and referred to as Er4u. The vendor themselves confirmed the code isn’t present to allow a silent install. Unfortunately if there isn’t a way to package this with AdminStudio, I’m at a stopping point. The ultimate hang-up is not being able to activate the product post install. What should he do? Thanks, Sonny

Hi, My prospect is going through the AdminStudio evaluation and they asked the following question: I'm working on configuring Intune as the distribution system and following the directions online here: https://docs.flexera.com/adminstudio2020/Content/helplibrary/Setting_up_Intune_Connection_for_the_Distribution_System.htm For client ID, do they need to register a APP for this? If so, is there any documentation on some settings such as API permissions and reply URLs? Thanks, Sonny

Hi, A customer asked me the following: Lately, Anti-Virus software is blocking our installs. He made a small project using the MSI packager and it worked fine. He believes the Repackager can help him convert the two dozen or so large installs he has to an MSI based project. He would go to IntallScript-> Basic MSI->Installscript MSI. Would the Repackager help solve this challenge?
