Are you sure that both users are consuming a license because of the "Assigned User" and "Calculated User" field values? I think that the "Calculated User" field value on its own would not cause a license to be consumed here. There are other reasons that both users might consume a license here. For example, there could be application usage data showing that that a user has used the software. Or the allocation of a user to the license might force consumption for that user. ... View more

The example snippet I gave uses the "Asset Tag" field as the unique identifier for matching. That won't necessarily be the best option for matching in your data, especially if you don't have reliable management of asset tags (which would be a common situation) - this is just an example. You could import a single column from your data source into multiple fields in FNMS - there is no restricting that a single source column can only be imported into a single destination field. ... @jjoaquin  The majority of applications on the Windows Platform in the ARL are recognized only by Installer Evidence and not by File Evidence due to the scenario that are are describing. In addition, when File Scanning is enabled, the Flexera Agent by default ignores anything under the default Windows folder. It would be interesting to see what evidence that is being picked up for one of your scenarios that you describe above: Pick a specific scenario that you are describing on a specific device. Within FNMS, find that device on the Active Inventory page, go into the properties of the device and then go to the Evidence tab. On the Installer Evidence page, search for the recognized application name to see what raw installer evidence (if any) is used to recognize this application. Next, go to the File Evidence page.  Go into Column Chooser and make sure that the Raw File Path column is on the view.  Then, filter on the recognized application name to see what raw file evidence (is any) is used to recognize this application and what File Path the EXE is found in. ... Yes, Windows computers with Hyper-V enabled have the potential to host virtual machines, and so will have a type of "VM Host" (at least if inventory is gathered using the FlexNet inventory agent). You can't assume that an inventory device record with a type of "VM Host" is some sort of server that hosts VMs running server-style workloads. That may be the case, but as you've noted it is common these days for end-user computers to have Hyper-V enabled and so be able to host VMs too. Of course from a raw inventory perspective it is hard to tell the difference: these are just Windows computers with Hyper-V. Whether a computer hosts a server workload or is an end-user device is a question of how the device is used, but there's no definitive way to identify that from automatically gathered inventory. ...
