Hello Community, We are having on-Prem setup where we are using Business Adapter to update CC, Location, Role and other values and once done we are unable to view the changes via update in all inventory view and if we open the inventory device where we have made changes we are able to view them and the same is captured in history as well and its not reflecting until next reconcile. Please help identify the issue and how this can be resolved. Regards,

Hi @craig_moore , try enabling TLS 1.1/1.2 at the client end and see if that resolves the issue and what version is TLS is enabled at Beacon level? Regards,

hi @kclausen , we are using FlexNet agent version 15.0 and let me confirm as we have other version of agents like 12.4 which might be installed on these servers and if that is the case i will upgrade the agent to latest version. Thank you Regards

Hi @kclausen , we have only FlexNet inventory agent for inventory gathering and we don't have other source of inventory for AWS hosted servers and there is no Hosted by option available in the whole history for servers where this issue exists.

Hi Forum, we have a requirement that when an inventory device is in ignored state and if the last inventory date got refreshed to the latest date and its reporting back to Flexera recently is there a possibility to make the status of those devices back to active automatically in an on-prem setup and don't want to use a business adapter? Hi Forum, We have few servers hosted in AWS and the FlexNet inventory agent is installed for gathering inventory. We are observing that few of the servers show us alert the the Virtual machine does not have a host and the VM properties under the device properties show host affinity enabled, and it doesn't display cloud hosting property, it doesn't display under the cloud service provider inventory as well and it shows its hosted on premise. Please suggest identifying the cause and remediate this and we are on Prem 2020 R1, thanks Regards,

Hi @ChrisG , this is strange that the device created manually got updated with few fields(from vmware rule) and only few properties of them got populated but still the device is showing as created manually and source is not changed to FNMS. Please suggest Regards,

Hi chris, there are 10 Vm's running on a esxi host as per the report from vmware team. All the vm's are installed with Flexera agent but only 5vm's are showing relationship with the host where other 5 vm's show host info missing and the host affinity option enabled in the vm properties

Hi @emtmeta , i've this view created as we are having migration of devices to a new OS and flexera agent is getting installed and earlier the inventory source is SCCM and no devices in all inventory have different device names with same serial no. Chose filter with Alerts and the Alert value "serial no is not unique" hope this is the requirement for your view. Regards,

Hi Chris, seems like .ndi files related to the servers are being uploaded to the beacon and not found in badlogs. Checked the computer as per the query provided and there is no HWdate is null . Tried to create a inventory device manually with few details available from ndi but even after 2 days the inventory is not updated completely rather there are only few properies updated like general, Licenses,ownership, VM properties and history only. Later i have deleted the inventory device completely, waiting for the next reconciliation to see if the device gets created as it should. For the 2nd device which is a oracle VM i've created an inventory device with few of the details available from the .ndi file from that device and the next day it got updated with all the details as per the ndi file i have for reference. regards

Hi @ChrisG , thanks for the quick response on the query. In our case the environment OLVM(Oracle VM) and the serial no of VM's are set as per the UUID of the Host per the oracle documentation. Host ID: Set each virtual machine’s serial number to the UUID of the host. Seems like the serial no. can be customized but we have to show what is the impact for the license calculation because of the duplicate serial no to the relevant stakeholders to make the changes to the Vm serial no. https://support.oracle.com/knowledge/Oracle%20Linux%20and%20Virtualization/2786377_1.html We are having On-prem 2020 R1 setup and is there any enhancement how the licenses are calculated in these cases in newer versions of FNMS?Seems the serial no can be customized changing the default value set as per the host serial no. Appreciate further help thoughts if this is a known case and what would the best approach and is there any documentation on this from Flexera and if any one else came across this scenario.
