Agreed. I've been thinking about a simple form website on IIS pushing PO data into a staging table. From there some data quality checking could be done and maybe a business import be used to push the data into FNMS. This could be made as complex as needed, maybe adding an autocomplete feature for convenience or regex-based checking to avoid wrong inputs.

When you do contract renewals, add using FNMS as the system of record for licensing. You will still have to prove completeness of data outside FNMS.

Keep in mind, to create the license you need the proper SKU for the purchase of the metric have and then add the maintenance with the proper metric SKU as well. (There is a separate reinstatement SKU per each metric type as well).

There's no specific specialized functionality in FlexNet Manager Suite for Cisco WebEx, but general license management capabilities may be able to be used. Do you know what kind of license terms and metrics apply to this software?

@nandinisapru - In this case, you could create 3 "Custom Metric" licenses within FNMS, for each type of User Access "Frequency". Next, you would allocate users to the correct "Frequency" license based on the actual usage of each user. This assumes that there is some type of Administrator Console for this product that allows you to capture and report on usage activity by user.

The range of metrics used for licensing software is virtually limitless, so listing metrics which are not directly modelled by FlexNet Manager Suite (or any other similar system) is not really a feasible exercise. It is more feasible to list license metrics (aka "license types") that are modelled. See the following page for a summary list: License Type. A favorite metric I like to refer to as an illustration when discussing this topic is used by PigCHAMP software. This software is licensed based on the number of reproductive sows you have in your pig farm. This is a good example of a metric that FlexNet Manager Suite will not directly import data to track consumption of. If you were seeking to model a PigCHAMP license in FlexNet Manager Suite, you would likely use a license record with a type of "Custom Metric" and use it to manually track your license consumption based on the number of reproductive sows in your farm.

@nandinisapru - FlexNet Manager Suite also has an integration with Salesforce out of the box. However you will find most integrations with SaaS applications that Flexera provides come with the SaaS Management capability in the Flexera One product (not FlexNet Manager Suite). This capability is more specifically targeted at managing SaaS licensing and usage scenarios. The best place in Flexera Community to discuss topics related to SaaS Management is the Flexera One Forum.

@nandinisapru - Since software publishers want to protect their property, License Key values are typically hidden and/or encrypted when a License Key is entered when installing software. Therefore, it makes it almost impossible for a discovery tool to capture License Keys when performing an inventory scan on a computer to determine what license keys a specific end point is using.

@nandinisapru - Oracle Active Data Guard is a Database Option Pack. Per Oracle licensing rules, Database Option Packs only need a license entitlement is they are both "Installed" and "Used". The usage is defined by the Oracle LMS Team and are measured by running a set of SQL Scripts against the Oracle Database Instance they are installed on. If you want to effectively and accurately manage Oracle Database Licensing, you will need to use the FlexNet Manager Agent on your Oracle Database Servers, as the complications of Oracle Database Licensing rules built into the FNMS Agent are verified by the Oracle LMS Audit Team.

@nandinisapru Just to elaborate a bit on David's response... SaaS Manager's Duo Security integration is for the cloud-hosted SAML Identity Provider, i.e. not the on-premise version. So you may have to extract the data from it and then create import jobs to push the data into SaaS Manager through its API. please refer to SaaS Management: Import Jobs API Likewise you may be able to extract more detailed license and usage statistics data from Cisco WebEx either through its APIs or reporting and then push this data into SaaS Manager through its API.
