Clients are pushing back on service accounts needing ongoing Local Admin permissions after installation. Can the Data Platform Service account permissions be reduced from Local Administrator to a lower level for ongoing function? What are those permissions?

In the Resolution section of the KB article winvarma suggested, it mentions running the powershell script with the /upgradeconfig flag. Have you run this as mentioned in the FNMS upgrade documentation? Resolution The issue has been recorded in our system under IOJ-2128316 (FNMS-68929) Note: Our current findings show that the Web.config has the referenced assemblies and the issue does not occur if the upgrade is run with the /updateconfig flag. Therefore this currently not being viewed as a defect. If you upgrade using /updateconfig and still see the issue, we suggest opening a support case and reference this article and we can investigate further.

The details are not showing in the ndi file. Looking at the Linux file system we can see executables in the /nfs/opt/wls/jdk1.8.0.281/bin file path. These are what is needed for application recognition of the jdk applications. See the attached screenshot from the server. The command being run is as suggested. Question: This is on an nfs file share mounted as a directory on the individual servers: Should /nfs be used in the command option string, or not? Like this: -o /nfs/opt/wls/jdk1.8.0.281/bin Or this: -o /opt/wls/jdk1.8.0.281/bin Thank you Dawn and ChrisG

A client needs to include inventory from remote file system mounted as directories on some Linux systems. FlexNet agent version 2020 R2.3 (16.3) is installed on RHEL version 7.9 systems. Using this command run from each system ndtrack -t machine -o IncludeNetworkDrives=True -o IncludeFileSystemType=nfs -o Recurse=True -o IncludeDirectory=/opt/wls -o IncludeDirectory=/opt/tomcat -o IncludeFile=jdk* We are looking for jdk evidence. Linux tools show us the files are there yet we get no relevant unrecognized evidence or inventory from the agents. Does anyone have experience with this situation?

Our client refreshed the token for the Microsoft 365 connector which had previously been working. This error message now appears: Failed to execute Reader 'Get Usage from Office 365 Exchange' from file C:\ProgramData\Flexera Software\Compliance\ImportProcedures\Inventory\Reader\microsoft 365\Usage.xml, at step line 1 Error: Unable to connect to the remote server It has been verified the account used has both the Cloud Application Admin and Reports reader roles. This client has registered an app using the Azure portal to connect to Microsoft 365. This is a bit different error message than seen in similar posts. Please help resolve this issue.

We have an FNMS Cloud client that has been using the FlexNet inventory agent on Exadata systems for over 1 year now with no issues. They had all the same questions you have. Oracle claims that Oracle Linux is build from Red Hat Enterprise Linux and is 100% compatible. At that time FNMS 2019 R1 was the current version and that Linux agent version was installed on a test Exadata system. Again, there were no issues with the installation, the ability to correctly gather Oracle inventory, or issues with the Oracle databases. If the FlexNet agents are installed on other Oracle servers the DBAs will have the same experience with the agent on the Exadata system. There were no special considerations or alterations needed to gather inventory from these systems. It is always a good idea to test the agent install and inventory results on an Exadata test system. They can gain some experience and have a compfort level prior to a wider rollout to all Exadata systems.

The client requires some Windows workgroup servers to be inventoried. The agent has been installed. Communications with the beacon to download policy result in S107M858 error messages. The following network error occurred while retrieving the application: A certificate chain processed, but terminated in a root certificate which is not trusted by the trust provider. These systems cannot be added to a domain to handle certificates. Other than not checking for certificates what options exist to enable system communication with the beacon in this environment?

Flexera's Gathering Inventory documents 2019 R2 and 2020 R1 now state: All device inventory gathered through the FlexNet inventory agent is identified in either of the following ways depending on the version of the FlexNet inventory agent being used: • If the version is 2019 R2 or later, the device inventory is identified by a unique Agent ID that is created on the device by the FlexNet inventory agent. • For versions prior to2019 R2, the device inventory is identified by the computer name and domain name of the device. This being the case, can the FlexNet inventory agent still be included in a image for deployment to new systems? Will the individual systems get an individual agent ID and produce individual inventory records? Or will they all get the same ID which would result in not getting individual inventory from each of the systems?

Does anyone have experience configuring the FlexNet Beacons and Inventory Agents to work with a NetScaler URL as the communication point for FlexNet inventory file uploads? The desired scenario consists of inventory traffic being sent to the NetScaler URL which then forwards the traffic to our two Beacon servers. We have been attempting to get this to work and it does to a degree. The FlexNet Inventory Agent installation package has been configured in the mgssetup.ini file to define the DEPLOYSERVERURL. Viewing the installation.log we do see it communicating to that URL and successfully downloading the policy. Reviewing the regkeys for the defined Download Settings we see the netscaler URL as being the Bootstrap Server 1 with the Beacon servers themselves listed also. However, the Upload Settings are only being set to the Beacon servers directly. We need the agent to point to the NetScaler connection since our internal policy requires all web traffic to go through the NetScaler. Making changes to policy is overwritten during the next policy update.
