Hi everyone, I've installed FNMS on our customer site using http for communication - everything works fine. Later we changed the communication to https. After i installed the agent on a windows server the policies where loaded BUT the upload and download locations are still the old server name. The certificate name is flexera.123.local, but the policy uses the servername. I have set up everything in FNMS (re run the ps scirpts too), the beacon and the agent for secure communication via the DNS name flexera.123.local. However, as soon as the agent has pulled its upload and download settings from the beacon via the policy, the server name C12345D6 is stored as the host, which means that communication does not work. I think it's just one little configuraiton i missed. Hope someone may help me. Thanks Daniel

yes, that's how it works. They were downloaded and imported. No files left. Did you run the import by using the command or just started the scheduled task manually?

Hi, same here. First thought was it depends on the SSL/IP change that Flexera made to the URLs: https://community.flexera.com/t5/FlexNet-Manager-Content-Blog/www-managesoft-com-amp-update-managesoft-com-IP-Address-and-SSL/ba-p/196656/jump-to/first-unread-message But the manual download works fine, so it can't be a problem with my local internet/whitelist/config.

@adrian_ritz1 thanks for your reply, the uuid's are different. Next step is to reinstall the agent, but after a reboot, the cloned vm will have his initial state again. @erwinlindemann yes, the agent id's are the same and that seems to be the problem. But all the values are different. We've raised a support case. Thank you and i'll keep you up to date on this case 🙂

Hi all, did anyone find a solution for this problem? We also facing the issue that our customer is cloning some vm's where the agent is already installed and working. On the cloned server the agent seems to work and upload an inventory, but there is nothing incoming to in IM DB. Thanks Daniel

Hi community, we established a BMC Discovery (ADDM) adapter in our FNMS development system and using it as our inventory source. Everything works fine but we also want to see the oracle database details like we receive it from the Flexera inventory agent on a oracle system. The BMC Discovery data show version and edition of the installed databases, but no details like packs & features or users. Our colleagues from the BMC Discovery team done a extended scan on the databases and we also installed the optional pattern. We still don’t receive Oracle database details - but they are visible in the BMC Discovery Web UI Is it possible to use the BMC Discovery (ADDM) adapter to import those Data or do we still have to use the inventory agent or Flexera zero touch scan? Is it generally possible to expand the data we receive from this adapter? For example receive additonal data like customer site - of course they already have to be available in BMC Dicovery... Hi,
we established a connection between our FNMS dev enviroment (2019R2) and our BMC Discovery (11.3.0.5)system. We created the importer as as documented in the Inventory Adapters and Connectors Reference Guide. Import worked and i can see data in the ADDM_stagging and also in the FNMS Inventory, but not in the FNMS Compliance. We see no data in the web ui too
Maybe we've done something wrong while setting up the adapter? There was one part in the documentation which confused us a little bit om Page 32 - Installing and Configuring the Staging Tool at point 2:
From your unzipped adapter archive, copy the folder BMC Atrium Discovery and Dependency Mapping (found in the path Adapter\Reader\) to the location identified in the previous step. This folder includes at least ten XML files and a reader.config file. This completes configuration for the inventory reader.
We created a folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Flexera Software\ADDMAdapter where we put the FnmpADDMSettings.xml and FnmpADDMStage.exe
There is also the folder C:\ProgramData\Flexera Software\Compliance\ImportProcedures\Inventory\Reader\BMC Atrium Discovery and Dependency Mapping where the reader.config is located.
Look that correct to you guys?

Thanks for your answer and the linked document. Unfortunately i didn't found the Analytics part in the documentation. Did i understood that correctly: it is possible to use Analytics/Cognos in a multi-tenant enviroment, but it must be licensed seperately (not like it is with the singel tenant/on premise FNMS)

Hi, we are running a multi-tenant enviroment too (2019R1) and it is still not possible to use Analytics. It depends on what you want to do or report, maybe i can see if we are facing the same issue and if we have a workaround. -Daniel
