@sasikumar_r , Just a thought are these Windows hosts? As I have seen this before that the VMware container name differs to the actual host name of the guest. What I would look for is this > Look at the hostname of the actual guest, I would the hostname of the actual guest to be representative of the .ndi Tst123 for example - so this could be your first clue. I'm not sure if you are using FNMS or ITAM - but I would then look in "All Inventory" and use the column chooser and also select VM name - as that takes the container name if you are also connected to vCenter inventory. Let me know how you get on 🙂

@AamerSharif - glad to hear this activity is an ongoing process for speed enhancements, as across the system this is probably the number 1 complaint I hear from our users. Which is the underlying speed of the system. 👍

Hey Guys, I just would like to point out that this element of the text no longer applies "This application was initially published by Quest Software, which Dell has since purchased." This was originally the case, but Dell Software that included Quest Software, was purchased back in 2016 by a couple of private equity firms, and rebranded back to Quest.

Hi @kclausen. Understood - I guess as part of the new replication facility as part of the later releases of the beacon software I was expecting a simple way to copy the necessary files over to our UAT instance.

Hey @tjohnson1 & @HollyM ‌‌👋, We have this implemented in our environment, as with the traditional solution we found that the inventory upload to the Flexera cloud wouldn't complete pre the next reconciliation run. I have noticed as per the note from Beacon version 18.1, a inventory only task is already included in the build. I have a couple of thoughts > Does this mean, we need to remove our original configured task? Or can they operate in tandem etc? Or as we have a manually created one, will the out of the box one not populate?

Hi @kclausen & @darren_haehnel . Thanks guys for your responses, is there any reason why typically the inbuilt uploader is not used as I thought that would be the easiest way to copy the files across. I will have a search for some scripts to see what is available for me 🙂

Hello @gsc_mysam_sggl. In terms of the clients, which version of OS are these agents installed on? My initial thought would be, depending on security concerns and version of Windows Server the beacon is installed on. It would be a case of either enabling the older protocol on the beacons to allow this connection, or enabling the newer encryption on the OS if possible. Ben Ben

Hey Guys, 👋 I hope everyone is well. I am looking to solve a puzzle I am currently facing, as part of the new file replication feature in the 17.x and later of the Flexera beacon software. I am looking to automate the upload of inventory files into our UAT instance so we are able to test new releases in greater depth. My proposal, was to use the built in uploader with a separate scheduled task from the main inventory uploader. So I was going to set the scheduled task up say once every once a week with the following parameters, similar to as follows > '-f C:\local\datareplication\*.* -o uploadLocation=//localhosts/ManageSoftRL/Inventories -o Logfile=C:\local\myuploaderlogfile.log -o TenantUID=AsPerTenant' However I seem to face an error, any thoughts to what I am doing incorrectly here please? Hey @OvidiuManta, I see a similar issue with our Flexera beacons some reflect the correct protocol and some show a blank as you have described, and have never really got to the bottom of why the logging shows this behaviour. However from an actual protocol we have had it confirmed it is actually enabled from the various security scans that are run. It's a strange one! Ben
