@anne_watson - the default configuration of FlexNet Manager Suite is set up to make a guess that where a serial number is found exactly 2 times then it is likely due to a re-imaging operation, and the associated computer records are subject to merging. If a serial number is found more than 2 times then the associated computer records are not merged based on the serial number. The threshold of 2 can be changed using a MaxDuplicateImportedComputerSerialNo configuration setting stored in the compliance database. First of all, I'm assuming that your system is set up to use Windows authentication (and not SAML SSO based authentication). If that assumption is wrong then the following comments will be off the mark. If your credentials are not being accepted here then that suggests that the IIS process the Analytics (IBM Cognos) application is running under is not set up to authenticate or trust your credentials for some reason. I always find IIS and Windows authentication topics somewhat scary and mystical (!), but I would be poking around in the authentication configuration settings that are on the Cognos virtual directory in IIS. For example: Check Windows and/or Basic Authentication is enabled as per how you expect it to be configured Check the "Provider" settings on the Windows Authentication settings in IIS - I'm not sure what settings may be correct/appropriate for your environment, but try different configurations (you're not going to break it more than it is broken already!)

Hi Dawn, If you're running a recent release, you should see the Evidence tab in your inventory. In this tab you can switch to File and WMI evidence. If the app is not recognized by installer, it is likely a file or WMI responsible for recognition. Best regards, Markward

I've run another ARL import and reconcile and that seems to have sorted it all out. I now only have a few freeware applications that I have marked as Unauthorised listed under Unlicensed Installs.

@dawn_griffin If you've received information that it's considered a bug and as such requires a fix it will get prioritized and fixed. An enhancement request gets created if it's not considered a bug, i.e. the product is working as designed. This will then get prioritized among other enhancement requests. Flexera will soon enable its customers to enter ideas through the community and then also "vote" for others' ideas and as such influence their priorities... Thanks,

@dawn_griffin - I would suggest reaching out to Flexera Support to discuss this one. I just took a look at the history and the last activities shows somebody was trying to get some more information about the scenario in order to better understand it and further consider what might be able to be done about it, but they couldn't get any further information at the time. If you are able to work with the Flexera Support team to get additional information that will help the Flexera Engineering group understand the matter better then that may help to move it forward.

Yes, I believe that page is something that comes with a FlexNet Manager for VMware (or FlexNet Manager for Data Centers) license.

@ChrisG Thanks for the information how to set the proxy. It was very helpful. I have updated a single-tenant environment to FNMS 2019 R2. After a few days I notied that the ARL import failed. The download was not working. I have not check the download with MgsImportRecognition.exe after the update and have not checked the reg key before I updated the system. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ManageSoft Corp\ManageSoft\Compliance\CurrentVersion\Recognition Perhaps the update delete the setting, but I'm not sure. Anyway now the proxy was set and the downloading is working again.
