Hi All, I have created a Basic MSI project. We can say the version of this installeer is 1.0. Now I have created new version 1.1. For upgrading my product from 1.0 to 1.1, I have created a standard patch. When I applied this patch everything goes fine and patch replaces all necessary files. Fine upto this point. Now, I have new version 1.2. So I had created new Standard patch which upgrade 1.1 to 1.2. When I am trying to appply this patch, it's not working for me. After successful installation of patch the files are not get replaced. Can sommeone help me to sort out this issue ?? Thanks. ... View more

Hi, I am creating a Basic MSI project.In this I have a custom action which install SQL server 2005. This custom action executed after LaunchCondition. Everything is working fine on all OS except Windows Vista. In Vista it is required to disable UAC to install SQL server properly. I had created another custom action which disable UAC. But problem is that for taking effect of these changes machine has to Restart. I reboot the machine. But after Rebooting installation does not start autamatically. Hi, I have created basic MSI project. Fro this I am creating patch using standard patch. For this I am trying to create new build. I create an AutoUpgrade by giving orignal .msi file. In this, I have added some new components and delete some of orignal components and replace some. While building project, it gives error. error Val0001 : The file (filename) appears to have been removed from the setup, but does not appear in the RemoveFile table. This file will not be removed from the target machine when an upgrade is run unless the RemoveFile table has been authored. So please guide me to sort out this issue ... View more

Hi All, I am creating installer which install our application in Program File folder. For that I set [INSTALLDIR] to ProgramFileFolder. It will waork fine for all OS. But now requirement is that if operating system is Windows Vista, application should get installed in AppDataFolder. For that purpose I have to change value of [INSTALLDIR] depending upon underlying OS. It should be AppDataFolder for Windows Vista and ProgramFilesFolder for all other OS. Hi, Our installer is working fine on Windows XP or Windows 2003 server, but the installer is not able to edit and update the deployed files on Vista OS (as they are marked as ready only). We are using Install shield 2009 Express and logged in user have admin right on machine. Please let me know if any one come across this issue or do have any work around to fix the above issue? ...
