Server Error in '/ESD' Application. The source contains no Datarows. Cause The error is caused when App Portal attempts to load an invalid Admin security mapping or Catalog Security mapping stored in the App Portal database. This can happen when an Active Directory user or group that is currently mapped in the database is no longer valid in Active Directory. Workaround To workaround the issue, make a backup copy of the database and run the following SQL queries against the App Portal database to remove all the current security mappings. You can then repopulate the security mappings with valid Active Directory entries. If the error occurs under the Admin -> Site Management -> Admin Security tab, run the following SQL query: delete from WD_NodeSecurity If the error occurs under the Admin -> Site Management -> Catalog Security tab, run the following SQL query: delete from WD_CatalogSecurity After the manual database update, do an IISRESET on the App Portal Server. Log in to the App Portal site and repopulate the security mappings with valid Active Directory groups/users. Additional Information This issue has been fixed in App Portal 2015 R2 where the invalid Active Directory entry is shown as a blank account and can be deleted by the administrator account.

Summary If the asset being imported contains an ampersand in the name, an XML parsing error is thrown and the DataSync fails Symptoms Not all users and computers get imported within App Portal and the DataSync.log file shows the following exception: Error getting computer table template XML parsing: line 1, character 136, semicolon expected at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection, Action`1 wrapCloseInAction) Cause Having an ampersand character '&' in either the computer or the user name causes the above XML parsing exception to be thrown. This is turn causes the data sync import process to fail. Resolution This issue has been fixed in App Portal 2016 Service Pack 1 release. Workaround To workaround the issue, the ampersand character in the machine or user name can be replaced to allow the import to finish successfully. The other alternative is to use a custom sync query that does not import machine or user names with the ampersand character e.g The following SQL query can be used for a Custom Device Sync Query: select vrs.ResourceID from v_R_System vrs where vrs.Netbios_Name0 not like '%&%' order by vrs.Netbios_Name0 Additional Information This issue was being tracked under bug issue #IOJ-1780781

Cause
App Portal makes a WMI call to the SCCM server during the upgrade process and if the App Portal upgrader account does not have permissions to make the WMI call, an Access Denied error will be encountered.
Resolution
The upgrader account needs to have at least ?Application Administrator? permissions within SCCM.

Synopsis
App Portal determines the Client Time Zone by obtaining the CurrentTimeZone from SCCM for a given device.
Discussion
The following query is run against the SCCM database for a given device to get the timezone offset: Select CurrentTimeZone0, name0 FROM v_GS_COMPUTER_SYSTEM WHERE Name0 = '<machineName>' Whenever a time is rendered in the App Portal website (or in an email notification), this timezone offset is applied to the UTC time. If Verbose logging is enabled in App Portal, the specific user log file located on the App Portal server under "C:\Program Files (x86)\Flexera Software\App Portal\Logs\UserLog" folder, would indicate the client offset time for that device e.g "Time Zone is -420".
