Hi Kevin, Thanks for the reply. I don’t really want to use the FNMS categories as: Not all our Applications are identified in the ARLs (I have sent ARL Update requests but as you know these can take a long time) Not all applications are categorised the way I would expect in the ARLs (for example, there are 11,000+ that are classified as ‘software’) I was really just wondering if other organisations ever found a way to effectively set and use categories, and also, do their users even use them, or do they just search for Applications like mine seem to do. We don’t make use of Categories very well in our App Portal. Our users only search for applications, never browse. I’d like to set up intuitive categories but am at a loss at where to start. We have 1000+ applications. We don’t have our App Portal integrated with FMNS, but saying that I was not blown away with the FNMS categorizations. Has anyone managed to use the Categories effectively – or do your users just search for what they want?

I am looking into setting up express checkout in our App Portal. I’m have a couple of questions someone might be able to help me with. Initially I would like to enable ‘Install Now’ for a select number of applications but it looks like it is all or nothing - as long as the Application Catalog Item does not have any conditions set that would prevent the Install Now button from displaying. Is there a way around this so I can only apply the ‘Install Now’ button to one or two Application Catalog items? One of the conditions which is supposed to prevent the Install Now button from displaying is if the ‘Allow switch to?’ is ticked. I have enabled express check out in a test environment, the install now button IS appearing on Application Catalog items which do have the ‘Allow switch to?’ option ticked. This does not seem to fit with what the doco says. Why is this (and what does the ‘Allow to?’ switch mean). Thanks in advance

Thanks Jim, I believe I have a DC issue. I'm working with the relevant team to get it fixed up. Because it is our test domain, it's not going to be considered high priority to fix up, but at least I know I'm on the right track.

Thanks, I tried the empty custom.less in our dev environment and the issue did not present itself. We will have to keep our company skins on our Prod App Portal front end. I've engaged someone from our design team to look at the custom.less file to see if they can help.

The Infrastructure Services Detailed Design doco provided by the Flexera Resource have a section around Custom Configurations – see below: Custom Configurations The following custom configurations have been implemented. All custom configuration files are are located in the G:\AppPortal\APImplFiles2017R1 (ImplFiles) folder on the App Portal Web Server. Custom Icons The App Portal logo has been replaced with the Customer logo. All logos are located in the {ImplFiles}\web\Images\Customer folder. Style Sheets Custom stylesheets have been configured to tailor the App Portal web site to meet the Macquarie Bank style guide requirements. The customised files are: {ImplFiles}\web\content\Custom.less We have since upgraded to 2019R1. Do you think the answer is in the Custom.less file? I have no idea about this.

When we set up our App Portal, we customised the look of with the help of a Flexera resource. We use a card catalog view. Up to now we have not enabled Express Checkout – but we would like to do this pretty soon. I enabled it in or Dev environment (which mirrors our prod environment) – after enabling it, the Catalog Item cards/icons ended up being displayed in random positions. It would not happen on chrome when looking on a monitor, but would on chrome on a laptop (smaller screen), it would happen when using IE and reducing the size of the window. After some investigation I edited the custom.less file (in our Dev environment) to remove .cardHeight{ height:inherit!important; } Now the icons will always display in a line …. But when I scroll to the bottom of the page the icons overlap onto a black background – which does not look nice. Also – the ‘Install Now’ button seems to hang a little below the Catalog Item Card. Has anyone else come across this and found a solution?

I’m looking for help around making use of the currency functionality in App Portal. I’d like to get costs of applications to be reflected in local currency. Our default ISO Currency is AUD. We have not integrated with FNMS. I ran a test, and set the rate for the Philippines to 2.0, ticked Enabled and saved. Later I asked my team mate who is based in the Philippines to test (she was testing on her local machine). She did not see any difference in item cost or currency symbol when she went to check out an Application Catalog Item which had a cost associated with it. The cost for the item she saw in her ‘Checkout’ – ‘Choose Target’ screen was the same as what I saw in Australia. How is App Portal determining where a user/machine is? Regional settings in Windows or IP? Is there something else I need to enable to make this work? Thanks!

We are investigating the possibility of using a non-user email address (a mail box) as part of an approval group. The current members of the Approval Group are valid App Portal members who are members of an AD group, we use the AD group to fill the App Portal Approver Group. If we added a mailbox to that AD group – would that be an issue? Currently that mailbox lives in an OU that is not part of the App Portal Custom User ID Sync SQL Query – would that cause any issues? If it did cause issues – could we modify our Sync SQL Query so that it’s details would be imported by the data sync? Would there be issues because that mailbox entry would not have an associated machine? What we are trying to achieve is for approval notifications, for a specific approval workflow, to go to a team’s mail box instead of to the whole team (the team is our licencing team and they are getting an overload of approval requests into their personal email).
