Thank you. I know this document, it has a lot of information. I've all ready installed an agent. But I'm preparing for the calss room training and my opinion is that the online training needs this part also the discovery part because a lot of questions are asked on both topics in the exam at end of this Discovery, Inventory, Normalisation training. I passed the exam because I have allready some knowledge. I'll discuss it further on the online classroom training in May. Thank you.

Hello Markward, Yes the clients are managed remote like installing new software, updates, etc. When working at home it is not really needed to setup a secure connection to the work environment if you don't have to access specific application you need or files on file-servers in the network. I.e webmail, community flexera or other applications can be reachable via internet and do not have the need to make first a secure connection. Because of this situation I'm looking for a solution for the wish I have mentioned in my post. This to have always an inventory of these devices. i don't know if my described solution via DMS is the solution. I hope some of you have experience in this and have a best practice solution. In the mean time I'll ask my technician about your suggestion reverse proxy / SSL. Best regards, Frank07

Sometimes it takes a days weeks or months when a client device (laptop) is able to send his inventory because it needs to be connected to internet and have access to a beacon. In most of the cases the user is connecting through a secure access application from home towards his office environment in the client network. The beacon is also placed in the client network so office users can reach the the beacon and also home users via the secure connection. But the are also users who not connect via secure access to office environment if it is not needed for their work. This means these devices cannot send it towards the beacon in client network. I want to solve this and I'm thinking about setting up a second beacon in the DMZ which is reachable via internet access and via a firewall it is connected to the beacon in the client network or the FNMS servers in the server network. Any idea how it works or how you have solved this ? Thanks in advance for your replies. Frank07

I'm in preparation of the Technical Admin course in May doing the online trainingen. Hello it looks like that the training video's have been renew and be rearranged. A part of the training discovery, inventory & application is a video called "Installing the inventory agent" link: https://learn.flexera.com/discovery-inventory-collection-with-flexnet-manager-suite/297510 In this video is referred to discovery rules which should be instructed earlier. Checked this but cannot find it. Also the video of installing end with an error during the install and Steve tells this wil be addressed in next video. But next video is not there. Can you look at this?

Hell Steve, I'm facing the same issue for some of the video's, not all of them. I'm working in Chrome browser via Secure Access (vpn-tunnel) Two examples which one works and which none not: Introduction to the FlexNet Manager UI: does not work and displays the error 230211 (this video cannot be played) Manage Account Access Through Roles: works It is somehow strange some of them are working and some not. When disconnecting the Secure Acces app and go directly to the internet then issue is solved. Best regards, Frank07

Hello all, I'm looking for a way to check in a report if: - usage metering is enabled on a device - when the last date was that the information has been send (like last inventory date, but now i.e. last usageagent date) This to track if it is enabled & issues. I cannot see it on the raw usage management view. Hope you can help me or have any suggestions or do i need to make a case for this for an enhancement? Kind regards, Frank07

Hello I got a question about on showing Usage > 0 on Application view or Last Used on Application tab from inventory of Device. Does Usage showing on Applications need Usage metering switched on on Agents? Tested: On my system no usage is switched on on the agents and it does no show Usage on the Application form or on Last Used on application tab on inventory of device. Tested to switch on usage on one client device. After doing this it is showing usage on both. Kind regards, Frank07

I've created a license processed from SKU 7NQ-00302 In the creation of the license it adds "SQL Server 2017 Standard as Application" managed by this license. Why does it takes this one during creation? In our situation this 2017 version is not installed. The highest version installed is 2014 standard. So it seems it does not select the highest installed version. Also checked if it is the latest in the ARL. In ARL 2019 is the highest number. So it does not select that one. Kind regards, Frank07

Our current settings (On premise multi-tenant) at this moment are: We have checked when started on about 170 devices AIX and it divides the start of the inventory between 08:30 and 16:30. Does every 6th day not mean the 6th day of the week, starts at the time you have set and then spread out in 8 hours if commence is 8 hours.

Hello all, Is there a possibility to split up the schedule time for agents? Now in User interface on tenant you can only set one time with commence for all the agents. When you have a lot of devices with agents this can possible lead to a peak performance on the network. Is there a possibility to split it up into ranges or otherwise? Kind regards, Frank07

Yes, i also checked Google searching on the SKU and the result is MSEA program but I've checked the SPLA program list of SKU's of the customer and this is in it 9EM-00562 WinSvrSTDCore ALNG LicSAPk MVL 2Lic CoreLic Windows Server STD CORE For other customer I'm having the same SKU from Microsoft for MSEA and now for Microsoft Premier Support So it looks like a SKU can belong to different programs ?
