Hi mrichardson, thanks once again for the confirmation .. really appreciate it. It is later on in the evening for me so I logged onto my FNMS Tool from home to check my suspicions and sure enough, for the rules that have run during the past hour or two .. the appropriate numbers are indeed identified in the table on the Discovery and Rules area as expected. So, as you confirmed in your last post, its our AsiaPac Beacon which runs 16 hours ahead of our other Beacons which updates the tables to zeroes. As you suggested, I could re schedule things if need be .. but my main goal was to simply understand why I was seeing what I was. It's been a good learning exercise for me and hopefully for some others who are in a similar position, where we know enough to be dangerous. That is, in fact, a big benefit to the FNMS deployment, it supports multiple OS's. I am not certain but I dont think SCCM supports all the systems the FNMS Agent supports

Yes, that is a reason, other reasons can be that the Database is stopped, and can't access them Oracle is not correctly uninstalled from server, how ever there are a lot of reasons. That's why you need to identify the servers that have unspecified edition for oracle, and check the log files and in all discovery device you search for the server and see what error is returned by local audit. Based on that the Oracle team should be able to solve the problem.

Hi, You can use the following option CheckServerCertificate =false According to documentation: When transferring data to or from an inventory beacon using the HTTPS protocol, a web server certificate is applied to the data being transferred. All component agents can (and by default do) validate the public certificates received from the inventory beacon against their local copy (on Windows, in the certificate store; and on UNIX in the PEM file). If you wish, you can use the CheckServerCertificate preference to prevent agents from performing the certificate check. (Without this check, the certificate is ignored, and the HTTPS protocol provides only encryption as security on the transfer, without validating that the agent is contacting the correct inventory beacon server.) You can set this as a common registry entry, so that the same behavior occurs across all agents; and you can override the common behavior by setting an overriding registry entry for any individual agent if required. By default, this preference is set so that all agents check the inventory beacon server certificate against the root CA certificate. Also other question, when you installed the agent on unix/linux did you put before installation the certificate on server? Also according to documentation: If the target computer device is to use the HTTPS protocol to communicate with an inventory beacon, and you require certificate checking to validate that the device is talking to the correct inventory beacon (for details, see Agent third-party deployment: Enabling the HTTPS Protocol on UNIX Agents): a. Prepare a summary HTTPS CA certificate for the target device(s) (see notes in Agent third-party deployment: HTTPS CA Certificate File Format (UNIX)) b. Configure your deployment/installation tool to deliver the certificate file as /var/tmp/ mgsft_rollout_cert on the target device. This file must be in place on the device before you run the installer for FlexNet inventory agent. During installation, the /var/tmp/mgsft_rollout_cert file is copied to /var/opt/managesoft/etc/ ssl/cert.pem. Tip: If you do not complete this as part of the deployment and installation process, after installation you can simply copy the completed certificate to /var/opt/managesoft/etc/ssl/cert.pem on a device where FlexNet inventory agent is locally installed. If you did the previous step correctly then probably there is a issue with your certificate, may be you can recreate it.

Hi @adrian_ritz1 Yes, do have two separate licenses. Utilise restrictions and group assignment. I make use of one of the enterprise groups for license restrictions - in this case you may use locations for Vendor 1 Location and vendor 2 location Then, restrict license 1 to vendor 1 location, and restrict license 2 to vendor 2 location. Group assignment is then used to prioritize consumption if needed. - this is covered in the help documentation. As you are effectively creating set restrictions (apply your knowledge of set theory and Venn diagrams), you do need to monitor unlicensed installations for devices that do not meet either restriction. Ideally you can use a business adapter to mark each device with the correct enterprise group. Regards,

this sounds like a beacon corruption issue to me, can you see if you can repair the installation via add/remove programs? if it does not let you and asks for am msi instead it tends to suggest there is a beacon installation integrity issues

Update: The issue was resolved by deleting the line which causes the issue from the Web.config file. Flexera support advised that there might be another configuration file at a higher level, adding the same entry of "Flexera-ReportLocation-PUT-MKCOL-Protocol" and it caused the duplicate entry.

We tried by reentering correct credentials before as well that did not help, however recently we have modified the file from DCOM Config having the application ID as per the error from Event Viewer. After that, we re-entered credentials and it worked. Thank you again! 🙂 Regards, Sourav
