I would like some help understanding how the user/computer relationship information gets transferred from App Broker to ServiceNow, when using ServiceNow as the front end. I get how the information gets to App Broker, but the ServiceNow administrator and myself are having trouble getting that information to show up in ServiceNow.

Could someone fill me in on if there are any versions of App Broker that would be too old to upgrade to 2020 R1, where you would need a net new instance instead of an upgrade?

With App Broker and using ServiceNow as the front end, are there any requirements for user accounts in either tool to be able to perform ROB? I know that Catalog Items themselves need to be enabled for ROB, but how are users given the ability to do this in ServiceNow?

I have a customer that would like to explore the possibility of notifying end users that they are going to have an application reclaimed from their machine by App Broker before their machine is entered into an uninstallation collection, in order to give the end user the option to open and use the application if they want to keep it. They are using ServiceNow as the front end ui so they don't want to give the end users the option to reply to a reclamation notification because they would be brought to App Broker instead of ServiceNow. Is this possible?

A customer is looking for details on what information is sent to/shared with Active Directory in a typical App Broker implementation. I've explained that the direct connection(s) to App Broker are in order to 1) enable authentication for logging into App Broker and 2) allow App Broker to deploy to specific AD groups and add users to AD groups. I believe all of the other AD related tasks are accomplished via SCCM and extending the AD attributes there. Is that correct? Can I get any more details on what information goes to AD?

Just to follow up here a little - does this mean that currently there is no way to deploy software to specific groups of people in App Portal Cloud? A customer is implementing this now so they really want to understand if it's limited to just deploying to single individuals, or everyone in the organization, or if they can push to groups in a way other than directly integrating with AD.

I'm hoping to get some clarification on a few things regarding the integration between App Broker and ServiceNow: 1. Is it the case that for a Catalog Item to sync with ServiceNow it has to have an SCCM package associated with it? If not, is that required for the status of the request to be updated in ServiceNow? 2. Also the customer in question would like to know what status updates occur in in ServiceNow the following scenarios (any details that can be provided would be helpful): AppBroker successfully installed the Software on machine through SCCM AppBroker cannot install the software as no package is available in SCCM No Licenses available

A customer has the ServiceNow connection set up (to be used as the front end ui, with App Broker as the backend) with App Broker and the tests pass and catalog items sync to ServiceNow, but the ServiceNow admin has brought to my attention that there is an authentication issue going from SN to AB during rest runs. The account we have set up has all of the proper ServiceNow roles set up, but we are still seeing a login error in SerivceNow - please see the screenshot attached. Is this issue caused by a lack of permissions in App Broker somewhere? I've never run into this before with other environments.

A customer recently starting seeing the error in App Broker that says they are over their current licensing and need to address it, but they having Device based licensing (in Settings>General it actually says DESKTOP based, and the license type is Subscription) and I'm not sure what database table that information is coming from, because I'm used to User based licensing models where it comes from the WD_User table. Where can I see the details on what devices are consuming licenses? And will functionality of App Broker be affected at all in the meantime?

A customer that will be implementing App Broker Cloud wants details on how Active Directory information will be used by the tool. I don't see anything AD related in the Release Notes - does App Broker Cloud connect to AD?

A customer has strict requirements around connections made directly to outside of their network/data center without going through some type of middleware and is wondering about some of the details regarding how App Broker connects to Cloud FNMS to perform license checks that I can't seem to find in any of the documentation: When App Broker calls FNMS to perform license checks, is the two way connection synchronous or is it an outbound message that is followed up by a separate inbound message? Does/can the connection utilize Oauth 2.0? Does FNMS ever initiate a connection or is it only initiated by the App Broker App Server?
