Change Title |
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Lifecycle Date Changes |
Class 1 |
Customers should be prepared and take action |
Change Summary |
Flexera will be making changes to Technopedia Lifecycle Dates for Red Hat Enterprise Linux versions 5, 6, 7 and 8 to correlate the RHEL Full Support and Maintenance Support phase dates to the End of Life and End of Support/Obsolete dates respectively in Technopedia. To ensure that our customers benefit from all relevant information offered, the EUS (Extended Update Support) and ELS (Extended Life-cycle Support) data will be captured in the Support Level Stage table, separately from the main Technopedia Lifecycle dates. This is because these extended support dates are optional add-ons offered through subscription only, and not all customers may have subscribed to these support terms. Data has been derived from the official Red Hat source: - https://access.redhat.com/support/policy/updates/errata |

Impact |
This change will impact customers who rely upon Technopedia Lifecycle dates from RHEL to manage their EOL and EOS/OBS program. The main changes will be to the EOL dates which will follow the Full Support phase dates offered by Red Hat. Obsolete dates for RHEL 5, 6, 7 and 8 will remain the same as currently recorded in Technopedia. A full list of the RHEL versions in scope for this review are in the attachment These changes are expected to happen during the first week of February |
