Spider Datacenter version 12.4.1 is available

Release Date: 2021-11-30

A new update of Spider Datacenter has been released. This includes the following items:

  • Spider Oracle Database Suite
  • Spider Datacenter Module (Appliance)
  • Spider Datacenter Inventory (Linux/Unix)

All components can be downloaded from our Product and License Center.

Highlights

  • New: New CRON for "Clean Up Archive Files" has been added. This can be activated to clean up archive files to prevent the disk from filling up. This improvement was implemented based on a customer idea.
  • Improved software detection for JAVA on Linux/Unix
  • Improvement: Recognition of products running on public cloud providers: MS Azure, AWS, GoogleCloud, Oracle Cloud
  • Adjustments for the 2020 re-verification

Software Detection Engine:

  • Improvement: Improved vendor and version identification of JAVA products
  • Improvement: Extend the existing SW asset detection for JAVA
  • Improvement: Filtering out -MGMTDB instances at swdetection_oracle Unix
  • Improvement: Improved detection of the WebLogic Edition
  • Fix: Elimination of the error situation with the Oracle DB SW detection
  • Fix: Correction that openJDK are recognized as Oracle Java versions that require a license

Scan Engine:

  • Improvement: Recognition of the Oracle KVM virtualization
  • Improvement: Recognition of cloud products (MS Azure, AWS, GoogleCloud, Oracle Cloud) as virtualization type
  • Improvement: Supplementing the edition query in the VMWare vCenter script
  • Improvement: Support for XCP-ng OS

Oracle Database Engine:

  • Improvement: New license rules for In-Memory Database implemented
  • Improvement: Further HW models and CPU types added
  • Improvement: Improved NUP calculation for certain scenarios
  • Fix: Remove Automatic Block Repair Feature from ActiveDataGuard
  • Improvement: Successful 2020's re-verification
  • Improvement: New switch for the configuration of the DBAFUS evaluation: Use of all entries or only those of the current version
  • Improvement: Renaming of the Oracle Audit export files according to new specifications from Oracle
  • Improvement: Extension of the VMWare export for Oracle according to new specifications

Infrastructure Engine
