Flexera SVM support for "Virtual Applications" such as those delivered by VMware Virtual App

Hello!

I have a quick question which I can't seem to find the answer for. Does Flexera SVM support virtualised applications?

I ask because when running a VMware virtual app, nothing is predeployed or managed on the user's device, and it's just accessed as an executable. There is no local component to manage and update.

Thank you,

David Stewart

Hi David,

This is an excellent question, thank you for addressing it in our forums.

The following KB article should help you understand how App-V packages can be scanned with the SVM.
https://community.flexera.com/t5/Software-Vulnerability-Manager/App-V-Streaming-Server-Scanning-via-Scheduled-Tasks/ta-p/5148

I hope this helps.
