Virtual Appliance Server Architectural Auto-Update Issue [i386/amd64]


Virtual Appliance server users might have to update their servers configuration to incorporate changes in the auto-update mechanism of their server. You could be seeing error relating to the server inability to update i386 packages from its sources if you haven't updated your server version or sources lately.


The SVM2018 VA server is not updating with the latest drivers and updates.
While executing the auto-update command on the VA server using, you might be seeing the following error:


Invalid entry in the /etc/apt/sources.list.d/csi.list is causing the error.


  • Login to your VA server with your privileged account.
  • Modify /etc/apt/sources.list.d/csi.list so that the content looks just like below:
    • deb [arch=amd64] trusty main
  • Save & run sudo apt-get update again.
