Symptoms
When sequencing a custom action in InstallShield Express, the custom action may be placed in the wrong section.
Cause
Certain key actions have set sequence numbers in the MSI table in an InstallShield Express Project. If many custom actions are created and possibly moved\deleted, the sequence numbers available for the section may be used up. This will then force the later custom actions to be pushed to the next section.
Resolution
It is possible to adjust the sequence by using ORCA to directly modify the msi table. Look into the InstallExecuteSequence table and modify Sequence column of the problematic actions. Adjusting the sequence numbers used should allow the actions to be run in correct order.
