upgrading from 10.5
Hi all,
I need to upgrade to IS 11.5 Multiplatform.
Can I still use my old IS 10.5 project? (it's a Universal Installer Project)
If I installed my product with an IS 10.5 installaer, may I have problem in the future to install product upgrade using IS11.5 installer?
Thanks in advance
Francesco

You should be able to open your project in InstallShield MultiPlatform 11.5 to upgrade it; and I believe MultiPlatform versions 10.5 and 11.5 use the same HSQL VPD registry, so registered product information on a target system should be compatible.

Hi Robert,
thanks for your help.
I am having a problem opening the 10.5 project with IS 11.5: I am able to open it and build it correctly, but when I launch the installer in the preinstall summary panel it seems no feature will be installed (size is 0 and no feature is displayed to be installed).
Do you have any idea?
Thanks
Francesco

Is an earlier version of your software already installed on the target system? If you select the Custom installation type, is anything selected?

No earlier version are installed. I tried to build a new 11.5 sample project and pre-install summary panel works properly and all features are displayed with right file size.
During compiling and building time no error occurred
Any suggestions?

If you select the Custom installation type, is anything selected? Are there any problems with the installation type definitions?

I put in my project a InstallType Dialog and a Feature Dialog too, for testing.
No feature is diplayed if I select typycal or custom installation type. And the summary panel reports always size null about file to install.
I tried to delete and define again al alias I amusing in the project, even if File action preview displays all files correctly.
What I am missing?
Regards
Francesco

At the moment the only solutions I found is to do a new project equalt to the old one but non imported from 10.5 version but created as 11.5 new project. All seems work properly. BUT my project is no big and complex, I can imagine that is not a good solution for project more complex.
