Windows Installer 4.5

Microsoft has the official WI 4.5 released.

Would IS2009 this version support or only the beta 4.5?

The RTM version of InstallShield 2009 provides support for MSI 4.5 beta 2. Support for the RTM release of MSI 4.5 will be forthcoming. That said, all of the support for MSI 4.5 in InstallShield should work fine with the final MSI bits (one exception is with the InstallScript MSI support for embedded UI which can cause the wrong finish dialog to appear), i.e., chaining, new database attributes, etc. should work with the final MSI release.

We just released IS2009 SP1 which includes RTM MSI 4.5 support. Go to the Tools menus and select Check for Updates to get the patch.

The English patch was released today. German and Japanese will be available early next week.
