Update installation from CD
(Installshield 2008)
Hi,
during an update installation from CD, the user recieves a message "please insert disk: 1". The Update installation cannot be finished.
I want to achieve the following:
V1 (Compressed): installation from CD
V2 (single component added): installation from a different CD, folder on CD has changed.
I know that there are registry keys/values below HKCR\Installer\Products\GUID\SourceList\Media that, if changed, allow the update installation from CD - but I would prefer a simpler way.
Does anybody know how to create setups that can be installed and updated from CD?
Thanks in advance, H.

Hello,
Did you ever get this solved or a way to work around this?
We are starting to create more minor upgrades that need to be on CD and therefore we are running into the 'Please insert the disk: 1' message. We know if you place all the install files onto the root of the CD it will work, but if we have more than one install package on the CD this will not work.
So if you have any work arounds for this I would like to hear from you.
Thanks,
