Unable To Connect Azure SQL Managed Instance

Hello,

I'm encountering difficulty when deploying SQL scripts to Azure SQL Managed instance. (MSSQL Server has no such issue)

We have ensured to set the target database server to target "Microsoft Windows Azure"

 

I'm unable to proceed past the "SQL Login" dialog as connection to the instance is giving me the following error (after ensuring to install SQL Server Native Client 10.0) and 

Has anyone experienced anything similar or is this simply a case of misconfiguration?sql error.png

Just to clarify, I have been able to establish a SSMS session on the same machine that will deploy the installer so connectivity doesn't seem to be an issue from that machine to the target Azure SQL instance.
