Simple InstallScript MSI project question
Hello,
I've got an Install Script MSI project I'm using to generate my installations.
After I build a release I get a number of files and folders. What I'm
wondering about are two files in particular: instmsia.exe and instmsiw.exe.
Any ideas on what these files do? Are these examples of InstallShield (Install
Script) running the windows installer (or parts of the windows installer)?
Or are these windows installer execs?
Curious - especially if the customer should inquire.
Thanks in advance
Dave

These are the redistributables for the Windows Installer. The Setup.exe installs Windows Installer before the .msi package is run if Windows Installer isn't present. InstallShield adds these to your installation if you select on the Setup.exe tab in the Releases view (or on the Setup Launcher panel in the Release Wizard) that you want to include Windows Installer with your setup launcher.
I hope that helps.
