Removing Desktop Icons from Previous Installations
I'm a newbee to these forums and a beginner user of InstallShield Express 2011.
I am trying to figure out how to remove previous desktop icons of an installation. I created an Upgrade Path and added the "Upgrade Code" in the Installation Designer under Upgrade Paths so that the previouse version will be overwritten.
When I go to install the new version, I end up with 2 icons on the desktop. The icons contain version numbers so I need to have the previous icon version removed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I think you have not configured your latest msi for upgrades properly.

Properly configured upgrades will take care of shortcut removal.

If you have any specific needs, MInor Upgrade for example, the steps would be different.
A minor Upgrade can be a full msi package or a patch.
As you are new, I would go into the details only if you truly need that.
