Issues with vs2008 crystal reports deployment
Does anyone know how to deploy a vs 2008 app that uses crystal reports using installshield? It doesn't look as though BI has created merge modules for cr2008 .net support.
The only way I've been able to get client machines to work is by running a separate msi (CRRedist2008_x86.msi). Using Installshield 2008 express, I can't figure out any way to include an msi in the installer (it doesn't seem like I should be able to...you can't run 2 msi's at the same time).
So the question is, how do I deploy this?
Ideas, suggestions, corrections much appreciated.
Cheers!

The typical solution for a requirement such as this one is to create a setup prerequisite for the .msi file, and then include that setup prerequisite in the installation project. The Premier and Professional editions of InstallShield have a Prerequisite Editor that lets you create and edit prerequisites, but the Express edition does not.
