Is it possible to customize Microsoft MSI
My Doubt is:
Suppose i have installed MSoffice 2007 in my system. Now i need to install MSoffice 2003 over Msoffice 2007.
So is it possible to customize the MSoffice 2003. Is it possible to edit it?
Actually whether it is possib;e to edit or customize the vendors msi's?

Assuming the .msi file is visible, and/or if you have control over what command line is used to launch it, then yes it's possible. But it may or may not be a good idea. 🙂 Generally one should approach changes by creating a transform (.mst file), and use an alternate command line to apply it at installation. This way the original .msi file is unchanged, but you still get the changes you desire. Some applications even come with tools or at least preferred ways to create and apply transforms for their installation. Such tools may help you avoid changes that could cause problems.
