InstallShield registration. Will a 2016 license work for 2019 or vice-versa?

Can I use an InstallShield license for InstallShield 2016 to activate a copy of InstallShield 2019, or a 2019 license to activate 2016? Trying to help my team get on a consistent version of the software.

 You cannot use InstallShield 2016 license to activate InstallShield 2019, you can get the activation code for Installshield 2019 from the Product Licensing Center(PLC) by login with the login credential provided.

And there is no way to upgrade a 2016 license to a 2019 license? I need to purchase a 2019 license in order to use 2019?

What about the other way around? Can I activate 2016 with a 2019 license?

Login to your Product and Licensing Center portal, and see what and all versions you are eligible based on your maintenance plan.

1- You cannot use InstallShield 2016 activation code to activate InstallShield 2019, or vice versa.

2- Required to activate InstallShield 2016 and InstallShield 2019 separately, and it will coexist in the same machine.
