InstallShield Docker Setup
I'm trying to install InstallShield in a docker container. I followed the instructions in the link below but it doesn't work (it just hangs forever).
InstallShield StandAlone Build with Docker - Community (flexera.com)
I am using InstallShield2021R1PremierComp.exe instead of InstallShield2019R3StandaloneBuild.exe. Is it compatible? Or do I need to use a different installer? And if so, where do I download it.
I also tried to run the command from a terminal in Windows, and I get the same behavior (hangs forever)
InstallShield2021R1PremierComp.exe /s /v"INSTALLLEVEL=101 SABCONTAINER=1" /qn

Hi @jdsylvain,
Thank you for your post.
The full InstallShield 2021 R1 IDE, for creating, modifying, and building InstallShield projects, has a different installer than the InstallShield 2021 R1 Standalone Build (SAB). In your case, you need the installer for the InstallShield 2021 R1 SAB, for generating only command line builds.
In the Product and License Center, where you downloaded InstallShield2021R1PremierComp.exe, please look for InstallShield 2021 Standalone Build License Perpetual License > InstallShield2021R1StandaloneBuild.exe then download then use that installer instead.
Please give that a try. Does that work for you?
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks!
