The VersionNT property will get the major.
You'd have to go more in depth if you were searching for Home / Pro / etc editions.

There are keywords WINMAJOR and WINMINOR whcih can be used to check the OS major version and minor version repectively.
For Vista,
Major version = 6
Minor version = 0
For Windows 7 ,
Major version = 6
Minor version = 1
For Vista,
Major version = 6
Minor version = 0
For Windows 7 ,
Major version = 6
Minor version = 1
