I have an executable which is an exe file. During installation, I would like to had a shortcut into the control panel of Vista.

How to do it? I have looked on the web and there is seriously no information on this topic.

So How to had a shortcut in the control panel on VISTA for a exe file. And by the way we cannot use a .cpl file like on XP.

Sorry, missed your last sentence. However, I think the only way to do this is with a CPL file.

why don't you add a shortcut item for the file from shortcuts view(Installation Designer->System Configuration->Shortcuts)? Is there any difference for Vista?

I don't think the Control Panel has an actual folder on the drive. Instead it compiles a list of applets from the CPL files in the SYSTEM folder.

I finally found it.

On vista you can add an executable by registering it in the registry.

Refer to the following link for more details.
