Error code -7141 An Unexpected error occured embedding file ...
Had this problem where I upgraded from XP to Win 7. This was for a new project but I copied an older project as my basis. My client wanted the Name of the project to contain the ':' character in the name. This is not a valid name for files within a directory and Installshield kept me from using it in most places. However I was allowed to use it within the following location. Prepare for Release->Releases->Builds->Express. The "MSI Package File Name" and "Setup File Name" contained the ':'. This is what caused the error. These text fields should probably not allow these special characters to be used.
Hopefully this helps someone fix a problem down the line and perhaps they can fix this in future version. This error happened in Installshield Express 2008, 2009 and 2010.
