Components Installing when they should not

I have four features in my project, they each have two sub features.

The four feautres are identical, each feature contains the same components/files.

In Custom Setup you can select which Features you want to install.

I have a problem in that when i install my 3rd feature, it also installs some files into folders that should only belong to the 4th Feature.

I cannot work out why this is?

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

If you look in the Setup Design view, is the fourth feature's component also contained in the third feature? If you create an MSI log file, is there any more information why the component is being installed?

Hi Thanks for replying, I'm sorry I have not replied sooner but I have been busy on other things and only noticed your reply today.

The two Features contain the same files but the components are different. They are named File1.dll1 and File1.dll7

I have not created a log yet but will do that today and post anything I find that seems suspicious here.

I cannot see anything suspicious in the log although I'm not sure what I'm looking for
