Applying Vendor MSP to Repackaged Install
Hello Everyone, looking for some urgent help here.
I need to apply a vendor MSP file, to a repackaged, already installed in production MSI file. The original vendor install file was an exe file so it was repackaged using Repackager, tested, and sent out into the wild. We have had no issues with this install.
The vendor recently contacted us and we need to apply a MSP which is a minor upgrade. Since the original executable was repackaged, the base vendor MSI is not being applied as it does not recognize the install.
"The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing"
Can anyone give me a quick rundown on the best approach to packaging and applying the MSP file? I have played around with the MSP direct editor but that doesn't seem to let me update it or anything.
Thanks
-Nick
