setting installshield to remove entire folders

It appears that installshield carefully deletes files individually instead of wiping out entire folders. This is nice, but if you want to remove a patch, the whole folder must be removed.

I understand that this can probably be done using a custom action script, but I would like to know of other methodologies before I resort to that.
