Tweaking the .iap_xml file
Hello,
The Setup I'm building can install on a lot of different OS which are not listed in the InstallAnywhere build options. Moreover, we constantly package different sets of OS on a cdrom or for download, which means I need a lot of control about what's get packaged. I'm working at tweaking the XML file (abcd.iap_xml) used by InstallAnywhere to describe the setup contents, so I can dynamically add or remove operating systems.
So far it works pretty well. But maybe I'm reinventing the wheel...
Has someone else done that? Is there even an official documentation about this subject? All I found is this post from last year: http://community.installshield.com/showthread.php?p=414637
Any comments?
🙂

Obviously, the main comment would be that tweaking the .iap_xml project is not recommended by Acresso, therefore any such tweaking is totally unsupported. But for what you seem to be needing, AFAIK in IA 2009 is possible to add directly from within the Advanced Designer as many build platforms as you need.
