If you want to delete a beacon from the Flexera One user interface but the button is disabled, this may be due to the beacon version you’re using. To use this feature, you must upgrade your IT Asset Management Beacons to version 13.5.x or later.
If you are already using version 13.5x or later, the delete button may become disabled if the beacon belongs to an inventory group. Follow the steps below to troubleshoot this issue and remove your beacon from the inventory group.
Solution
- Navigate to Data Collection > IT Assets Inventory Tasks > Inventory Settings.
- Select the pencil icon to edit an inventory group. This will show you which beacons belong to which inventory group.
- To delete the beacon, you must first remove the beacon from the inventory group. Select the beacon you want to delete from the table, then select the Remove button.
- When your beacon has been removed from the inventory group navigate back to Data Collection > IT Assets Inventory Tasks > Beacons. You should now see the delete button available.
