Question

Getting Return code -8: Invalid license key when updating from 11.8 to 11.13.0.2 Trusted Storage. How do we resolve this?

The lm_code.h is same. Signature is same but 11.8 checkout fails with -8 error.

Answer

Starting FNP 11.12.1, We Introduced a new attribute for Client side Trusted Storage attribute. This is mentioned in FNP 11.12.1 Release notes:

Checking signatures of INCREMENT lines from client-sideTrusted Storage
A new client attribute LM_A_CHECK_LOCAL_TS_SIGNATURE is introduced to enable or disable the signature check of the local trusted storage license. (IOB-000062537). Also see Known Issues section Issues Specific to Trusted-Storage-Based Licensing for details on (IOA-000084970 and IOC-000090943) issues

Setting LM_A_CHECK_LOCAL_TS_SIGNATURE to 0 will help resolve the issue.

In older versions we used to ignore some keywords like TS_OK in trusted storage license etc and now starting 11.12.1, we process them. Setting LM_A_CHECK_LOCAL_TS_SIGNATURE to 0 will make it backward compatible prior to 11.12.1.
