If a client application hangs up after checking-out a license, it (obviously) can't return it to the server by calling lc_checkin. In this case, how do you return the no longer used license to the license server?

If a client application hangs up after checking-out a license, it (obviously) can't return it to the server by calling lc_checkin. In this case, how do you return the no longer used license to the license server?

Answer

The license can be return to license by execute lmutil lmremove command. There are two option formats:
> lmremove [-c license_file_list] feature user user_host display
or
> lmremove [-c license_file_list] -h feature server_host port handle
If you don't know value of user, user_host, display, server_host, port and handle, you can obtain it by executing:
> lmutil lmstat -a
