USING VMW_UUID on the SERVER line: Not recognising my virtual environment?

Jump to solution

I am trying out FlexNet publisher on a linux virtual machine generated by vmware

I have a test license file with the following line

SERVER my-virtual-machine VMW_UUID=a9813d56-d768-9e1g-2ec1-badf36h43878

The UUID was generated with

dmidecode -t system | grep UUID

When I start the server with lmgrd -z -c my_license.lic I get the error message

demo exited with status 60 (HOSTID does not match the license server environment)

Hi @tkflex Can you confirm the FNP version as all because all the latest fixes were done for VM_UUID hostID only. (VMW_UUID is deprecated since 11.14.1.0). So try to use VM_UUID and check how it goes.

Best Regards,

Hi @mrathinam , thanks for the quick reply.

I am using v11.19.1.0 with a demoversion of the license manager

I have replaced VMW_UUID with VM_UUID and I believe this helped. The server is now prompting me to install flexnet licensing services? I don't believe I have access to this under my trial?

Hi @tkflex Thanks for your confirmation. I think you can install and test, anyway it will install the demo server only.
