FlexNet Operations Reporter 4.2 (New) - How to Reschedule a Paused Report
FlexNet Operations Reporter 4.2 (New) - How to Reschedule a Paused Report
Scheduled reports in legacy Reporter were copied over to new Reporter and set as paused to prevent the sending of duplicate reports. If you have any scheduled reports, you must enable them in new Reporter or they will not be delivered after the switch-over date on August 6th as announced here.
Locate your scheduled report in new Reporter. Scheduled reports typically show a value in the instances column.
Right click on the report to open the menu options and select History:
From the History page, click on the report that has Paused in the Status column.
Above the report, select Choose More Actions:
If you choose Resume, the report will run immediately since the Start Date/Time of the old scheduler is likely before today. You can check by clicking on Pause to look at the scheduler parameters and see Next Run Time is before today.
To avoid this immediate run, select Reschedule.
Once you have selected Reschedule, the Reschedule window will open up. Review all of the panels on the left prior to scheduling. General information on scheduling is located in the Reporter User Guide - Scheduling a Report.
For rescheduling a report, Replace and Recurrence are most significant. On the Replace panel, there are two options:
- Replace existing schedule – This is not the default and you should select this if you do not want to create an extra scheduled instance of the report. It will overwrite the scheduler that was paused if selected.
- Create new schedule from existing schedule – This is the default and will result in another scheduled instance of the report. This might be desirable if you want to create a similar scheduler with different prompts or distribution.
Recommendation to use "Replace existing schedule"
On the Recurrence panel, you’ll see the original recurring schedule for the report. It will reflect the original Start Date/Time of the report which will more than likely would be in the past. Update the Start Date/Time to reflect the next time you want the report to run. If the Start Date/Time is prior to today, report will run immediately when scheduled. The Start Date/Time has already been updated to a future date in this example.
Note the End Date/Time should be after the Start Date/Time (including the time itself). If the end time is set before the start time (even if the end date is after the start date), the last scheduled report will not run.
Once you are ok with the remaining panels, select Schedule in the lower right corner of the Scheduler page. The History page will show the report is no longer in Pending status. It may show Recurring or Pending depending on the recurrence settings.
You can click into the status field on the History page to validate the scheduler parameters. In this example, Recurring status was clicked.
If this is before the switch-over on August 6th, you can pause or delete your original scheduled report in legacy Reporter to avoid duplicate reports running. Navigate to the report in legacy Reporter, right click on the report and select History.
Select Actions and Pause.
Feel free to contact support if you are unable to locate your scheduled reports.
