Question

How can the debug level be changed for log files generated by Flexnet Manager and Flexnet Agent?

Answer

For Flexnet Agent (FNA):
  • Make sure the FNA service has been stopped.
    • Within a command prompt window navigate to the FNA installation folder and run the command 'flexnet stop'
  • Once the application has been confirmed to be stopped. Run the command 'flexnet site', this will bring up the FNA Configurator.
  • Within FNA configuration step 1, click the box 'Show Advanced Settings'
  • A pop up window will be shown. Under the 'Startup Logging Threshold' make sure that 'Debug Messages' have been selected.
  • Once those fields have been completed, proceed to the end of the configurator and press 'Finish' to save the changes.
For Flexnet Manager Admin (FNM Admin):
  • Make sure the FNM Admin service has been stopped.
    • Within a command prompt window navigate to the FNM Admin installation folder and run the command 'flexnet stop'
  • Once the application has been confirmed to be stopped. Run the command 'flexnet site', this will bring up the FNM Admin configurator.
  • Within the FNM Admin configuration step 1, check the box 'Show Advanced Settings'
  • Now proceed to Step 2 of 6, under the 'Startup Logging Threshold' make sure that 'Debug Messages' have been checked.
  • Once those fields have been completed, proceed to the end of the configurator and press 'Finish' to save the changes.
For Flexnet Manager Reporting (FNM Reporting):
  • Make sure the Reporting service has been stopped.
    • Within a command prompt window navigate to the FNM Reporting installation folder and run the command 'flexnet stop'
  • Once the application has been confirmed to be stopped. Run the command 'flexnet site', this will bring up the FNM Reporting configurator.
  • Within the FNM Reporting configuration step 1, check the box 'Show Advanced Settings'
  • Now proceed to Step 2 of 5, under the 'Startup Logging Threshold' make sure that Debug Messages have been checked.
  • Once those fields have been completed, proceed to the end of the configurator and press 'Finish' to save the changes.
