Known Issue: SelectorAlgorithm preference setting is reverted to its default value when the FlexNet inventory agent is upgraded on Windows (IOJ-2233789)
Summary
The SelectorAlgorithm preference is reverted to its default value when the FlexNet inventory agent is upgraded on Windows if a desired non-default value is not configured as part of the upgrade package.
Details
During the Windows FlexNet inventory agent upgrade process, the SelectorAlgorithm agent preference is reset to the value specified in the mgssetup.ini file specified in the upgrade package, or (if not specified there) to its default value: MgsRandom;MgsPing;MgsADSiteMatch
If a non-default value for the SelectorAlgorithm preference is needed, be sure to configure it in the mgssetup.ini files that are used both for initial agent installation, and for agent upgrades. See the following page for an example of how to do this: Agent Third-Party Deployment: Edit the Configuration File for Microsoft Windows
The SelectorAlgorithm preference value is configured under the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\ManageSoft Corp\ManageSoft\NetSelector
Fix status
This issue has been fixed in the following FlexNet Manager Suite releases: 2022 R1.1 / May 2022 (Cloud), 2022 R2 (On Premises)
