Reset the administrator password for the FlexNet Beacon Monitor
Reset the administrator password for the FlexNet Beacon Monitor
The FlexNet Beacon Monitor UI username and password are stored in the FlexNet Beacon Monitor’s config.json file. The password information stored in the config.json file is encrypted and can’t be manually changed.
To change the administrator password for the FlexNet Beacon Monitor, you’ll need to use the Beacon Monitor Configuration Tool with the “hash-password” parameter. You can reset the password by following these steps:
- Log onto the server that has the FlexNet Beacon Monitor installed.
- Open a command prompt on the machine.
- Navigate to the location of the Beacon Monitor Configuration Tool.
By default, this is C:\Program Files (x86)\Flexera Software\Beacon Monitoring - Run the following command:
.\BeaconMonitorConfigurationTool.exe hash-password <password_to_set>
You can now log into the FlexNet Beacon Monitor using the password specified as the <password_to_set>.
